Now offered as a virtual course, taking place in a virtual classroom setting, Analyzing Personal Financial Statements & Tax Returns teaches participants how to use tax returns and personal financial statements to determine a customer’s ability to repay a loan through cash flow as well as how to value their net assets in the event of liquidation. Cases include a discussion of individuals, partnerships, proprietorships, and small businesses. Through a mix of case studies, small group activities, and large group discussions, participants are better prepared to apply the content learned when they return to their jobs.

OBJECTIVES
After completing Analyzing Personal Financial Statements & Tax Returns, participants will be able to:

  • Use personal financial statements to evaluate the resources available to pay loans
  • Estimate and analyze cash flow from financial statements and personal tax returns
  • Explain tax fundamentals, including:
    • How taxes influence cash flow
    • How taxes influence the customer’s operations

Analyzing Personal Financial Statements and Tax Returns is designed for lending and credit professionals who lend to individuals and small businesses, and rely on income tax returns and cash flow information to make credit decisions; however, this course can benefit all lenders trying to differentiate their services in the market.
